San Antonio Spurs are the NBA champions !!

For the third time in seven years,the fanchise won its third ring, defeating the defending champions,Detroit Pistons in Game 7 of the best of seven series to clinch the world title 4-3...!!

This finals series was a memorable one,with both sides giving it their all in all the seven games..

First it was the turn of Spurs to take a 2-0 lead,winning both thier home games in San Antonio..

Then Larry Brown's men came back in true Champions' style to square the series 2-2 defeating Popovich's men in back to back games in Detroit!!

Not even the die-hard Spurs fan expected the tide to turn in their favour in Game 5 in Detroit..but it did,thanks to Robert Horry, that ex-Lakers guard,pinching the game winning shot with 5.7secs to go..!!!

So it was all for the Spurs' taking in Game 6 in theor own court yard... but did the Pistons come back!!

They came back and humiliated the hosts in Game 6 thanks to a virtuoso performance from Rashid Wallace,the maverick but brilliant point-guard..

Now it was three games apiece and it all went down to the wire in Game 7 as well...but in the end, it was Tim Duncan,who was the difference..!!

Big players for big matches,they say and Duncan certainly proved that once again,leading the way for the Spurs to an amazing win and winning his 3rd MVP Finals' honour..!!!

Hail the champions..!!!
